Know who represents whom

Nevada’s Duties Owed form explains duties a licensee owes to parties and additional duties to a client. Ask who the agent represents, what agreements you are being asked to sign, and how compensation is handled. Read Nevada Real Estate Division Form 525.

A disclosure and a representation agreement serve different purposes. Read both and ask for clarification before signing.

Make the working relationship explicit

  • How will we communicate and how often?
  • What happens during inspections and negotiations?
  • Who will help with loan, title, tax, and legal questions?
  • What services, fees, duration, and cancellation terms does the agreement specify?

Your goals should guide the process. Compare homes using budget, property features, commute, and your priorities. You decide where you want to live.
